Here’s what some of our past customers have to say about Hala Kahiki!

YELP REVIEWS

Drinks are awesome here. The menu looks like one you'd see in any restaurant but everything listed in it is alcoholic. The variety of drinks includes hot drinks, cold drinks, and even dessert drinks. Almost everything has a couple different liquors in it so this wouldn't be the best place for beer or wine drinkers. There are a couple options for beer and wine but it's very limited. Some of the cocktails are very powerful (Sake-tini & Harpoon baby) so proceed with caution. Prices are pretty reasonable too. Free pretzels are sweet.

Inside Hala Kahiki looks pretty nice. The tropical/Hawaiian theme is everywhere. There are a ton of decorations so there's a lot to look at... if you can get past how dark it is. You can't really people watch but you can see everyone at your table just fine. Can't really hear the music unless you're in the front part of the bar. FYI, this isn't really a stand around, party type of place. Everyone gets seated at one of the numerous tables in the establishment.

LOVE THIS PLACE!

Came here w/ friends (7 of us) at around 8PM on a Friday night. It was not crowded yet. We got seated right away.

1) Awesome drinks!

2) Friendly service. Our waiter was nice & attentive. I know there are complaints of bad service from some yelpers so maybe we lucked out? It was probably too early for the usual drinking crowd so the waiter was able to give us the attention we needed.

3) Tiki-reffic decor! Come in & you'll really feel like you're in the tropics! I plan to come back here during blah Chicago winter days to forget for a while that it's -12 degrees outside.

4) Crowd here is more chill! THANK GOD! No "wooo girls", trixies, chads, slutty college girls who have daddy issues, and idiot frat boys you'd see on Rush & Division.

5) They have a store connected to to the bar where you can get Hawaiian/tropical clothes/accessories.

Great time‎?‎? Not a lot of Tiki bars left around. I like Hala Kahiki for a few drinks. Great for dates or a night out with your spouse. Everyone should definitely go and check it out.

awesome- but eat first!‎?‎? Whenever we visit Chicago we stop here at least once after our shows. Great place to have fruity drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. But there is no food

My friends and I have been going there for years. It's a nice change from the loud bars we usually go to on the weekends. Their menu includes a wide variety of drinks to try and I have never had a problem with any of the waitresses there. They stop by the table frequently to check on you and your group and any questions you have about the menu, they have the answer! If you're looking for a quiet place to just talk with friends over a drink this is the place to go!!

A Taste of the Tropics

Go to Hala Kahiki! Where else in Illinois can you step into a little piece of Hawaii, tucked away in a quiet suburb? They have a wide selection of tropical drinks (I recommend the Scorpion) and are reasonably priced for such novelty drinks. It is a quiet atmosphere, with low lighting and candles on the tables. There is also a cute gift shop - but be warned, it closes early. You can sit at the bar itself, or sit at a table and be served by a waitress. It's not your usual weekend bar but the cute atmosphere is worth the loss of your usual beer-and-shot routine. Definitely good for a 'girl's night out'!
